N.P., by Banana Yoshimoto

Hi guys, today I want to talk about a very nice and intriguing book, N.P. by Banana Yoshimoto.

The book tells the story of a writer Sarao Takase who writes a book of 100 stories titled N.P., but before publishing the work, Takase dies suicide by writing only 97 stories.

The story tells the events of two twin sisters, a girl named Kazami and her boyfriend, who also died suicide by working on the book of Takase. It seems that around this novel lies a kind of "malediction".

I've read enough of this writer, but I miss Kitchen (it will surely be among the next readings). N.P. was the first book that I read of the Japanese writer Banana Yoshimoto and I immediately loved it.

Why read Banana Yoshimoto's N.P? Because she not only tells us a story that we read with great pleasure, she analyzes themes like incest, family affection, cultural eradication and somehow tells us, through the Japanese lexicon, customs and traditions of her country.

Sometimes the narration focuses on shaken and disoriented souls of the characters, others times it is fast and full of plot twists. In conclusion, it is the tipical book you can reas in few days and that leaves you an enthusiasm for the writer.

Of course, I will publish something else about this writer because I love her books very much. So, I let you judge her!

Oggi voglio parlare di un libro molto piacevole e intrigante, N.P di Banana Yoshimoto.

Il libro racconta la storia di uno scrittore Sarao Takase che scrive un libro di 100 racconti intitolato N.P., ma prima di pubblicarlo questo muore suicida scrivendo solo 97 racconti. La storia racconta le vicende che vanno a intrecciarsi tra i figli dello scrittore due gemelli, una ragazza di nome Kazami e il suo fidanzato, anch'egli morto suicida lavorando al libro di Takase. Sembra che su questo romanzo aleggi una sorta di "maledizione".

Ho letto abbastanza di questa scrittrice, ma Kitchen manca all'appello (sarà sicuramente fra le prossime letture). N.P. è stato il primo libro che ho letto della scrittrice giapponese Banana Yoshimoto ed è stato subito amore.

Perché leggere N.P di Banana Yoshimoto? Perché oltre a raccontarci una storia che leggiamo con grande piacere, va a toccare temi come l'incesto, l'affetto familiare, lo sradicamento culturale e in qualche modo ci racconta, attraverso il lessico giapponese, usanze e tradizioni

A volte la narrazione si sofferma sugli animi sconvolti, scombussolati dei protagonisti, in modo lento, toccante, altre volte, invece, è veloce e ricco di colpi di scena. Insomma, il classico libro che con due giorni si legge e ti lascia un entusiasmo per la scrittrice.

Sicuramente pubblicherò qualcos'altro di questa scrittrice perché i suoi libri mi sono piaciuti molto. Per ora lascio giudicare voi.
